I'm Mary-Ann Poata, author, illustrator and mum behind The Bridge to Brave. Here you'll find stories, resources, and heartfelt tools crafted to support tamariki as they journey through big emotions - with courage, compassion, and the steady reminder that they're never alone.
Whether your a teacher looking for classroom activities, a counselor seeking gentle tools for kōrero, or a family member walking beside a brave young soul - this space was made with you in mind.
Thank you for being here. Your presence matters, and together we can build bridges of understanding that carry our young ones toward hope and healing.
*** Launch date for "The Bridge to Brave" 30th August 2025***
My debut children's book "The Bridge to Brave" is about to be printed, and i couldn't be more excited than to share it with you.
This story was born from the emotional journeys of my own tamariki-woven with love, courage and connection. Its more than a book; it's a space for healing, hope, and heartfelt conversations.
This is just the beginning. I'm already dreaming up more stories to come - each one crafted to support emotional well-being and celebrate the hearts of our children.
